When Gregg Wallace isn’t busy critiquing the skills of aspiring cooks in the MasterChef kitchen, he spends his days hanging out with his family.
Away from filming, the former greengrocer, 56, who hails from Peckham, London, is seen sharing an insight into his personal life on social media, with his Instagram page littered with updates on his gym progress.
Among the before and after shots, however, are a slew of adorable snaps of his wife, baby boy and their adorable dogs, with lockdown especially seeing Gregg share more of his home life in the countryside.
Who is Gregg Wallace’s wife?
Gregg is married to wife Anne-Marie Sterpini, 33, who he tied the knot with in 2016.
The duo actually met on Twitter, with Gregg and Anne-Marie first speaking on the social media platform in 2013 when she contacted him for some recipe advice. She had wanted to know whether rhubarb was a good choice to go with duck.
It’s not your usual pick-up line, but being the food fanatic he is Gregg was only too happy to reply and the pair hit it off, before arranging to meet for dinner.
He later told Hello! magazine: ‘I just looked at Anna’s photo and thought, “Wow, she’s pretty”, so yes, rhubarb, which was considered an aphrodisiac in medieval times, brought us together.’
Gregg said during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine that he thinks it was ‘luck’ that he and Anne-Marie met and admitted that, at first, he was worried about their 23-year age gap – even thought it never bothered his wife.
‘People look at you anyway and I felt really conscious because she was younger and I didn’t want people to judge her harshly,’ he said.
Gregg and Anne-Marie got engaged in 2014 and later married at Hever Castle in August 2016, before heading off on honeymoon to Portofino on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
Do Gregg Wallace and wife Anne-Marie have children?
Yes. Gregg and Anne-Marie share a son named Sid Massimo Wallace. Sid was born in May 2019 and Gregg revealed that his boy’s name is a nod to both sides of his family.
Sid was the name of Gregg’s grandfather, while Massimo is the name of his Italian father-in-law.
Gregg and Anne-Marie had been planning on undergoing IVF treatment to fall pregnant at the time she found out she was expecting Sid. He had been conceived naturally after two years of the couple trying for baby.
Becoming a dad again in his 50s had concerned Gregg, who feared being an older dad.
During an appearance on Loose Women in 2019, shortly after Sid’s birth, Gregg said: ‘Well, I did say to Anna I wasn’t sure [about having kids] because by the time you’re my age, normally your children have grown up and you can have time with your wife again. I’m going to be in my 70s when Sid’s 20.’
Gregg is also dad to two other children, son Tom, and daughter Libby, from a previous marriage.
How many times has Gregg Wallace been married?
Gregg’s marriage to wife Anne-Marie is his fourth.
He wed his first wife Christine in 1991 and later described their marriage as the ‘shortest marriage in the world’ as they went their separate ways after just six weeks.
Gregg then went on to marry former wife Denise – who is mum to his kids Tom and Libby – in 1999 after six years of dating. They were married for five years, before separating, following Gregg having an affair, in 2004 and Gregg won full custody of their kids.
The MasterChef star then wed third wife, biology teacher Heidi Brown in 2010, after also meeting her on Twitter. They married at Coworth Park in Berkshire, but split just 15-months later.
MasterChef continues on Wednesday at 8pm on BBC One.
