Thanks to the Sussexes’ relocation to California, Meghan Markle can embrace spring-appropriate frocks all year long. And she’s done exactly that overnight, opting for one of the new season’s biggest trends for a new video appearance.

In a livestreamed promotional event for Spotify, aptly titled Spotify Stream On, the Duchess of Sussex made her first public appearance since announcing that she was expecting her second child with husband Prince Harry. It’s also the first time we’ve seen the couple since the Queen announced they wouldn’t be returning to royal duties.

In the clip, Meghan and Harry sit in the chicly designed living room of their home in Montecito, California, with Meghan wearing a blue A-line dress courtesy of Oscar de la Renta, and Harry sporting a white button-down and black trousers.

Meghan’s sleeveless dress features spring’s most popular print: a signature lemon motif, along with a flattering peplum and flounce hem which works perfectly with her growing bump.

The Sussexes’ joint appearance also follows their December 2020 announcement of Archewell Audio, which will result in the couple producing exclusive podcasts and content for the streaming giant. Since the news, the pair have released their first podcast, a special holiday-themed episode that features a slew of their famous friends including Stacey Abrams, Brené Brown, Elton John, Deepak Chopra, James Corden, and Tyler Perry.

In the Spotify Stream On clip, the Sussexes discuss why they decided to venture into the audio content creation industry, expressing that they want to uplift and highlight diverse voices that are too often overlooked in mainstream media.

‘We’re using podcasting to drive powerful conversations that inspire, challenge, and educate,’ say both Meghan and Harry in the video.

‘We created Archewell audio to make sure that we can elevate voices that maybe aren’t being heard and to hear people’s stories,’ says Meghan. Harry echoes her sentiment, adding, ‘The biggest part of this is to create this community of where you can share and encourage everybody else to then share their own vulnerabilities within that safe space.’
