Holly Willoughby told Phillip Schofield that she might lick his face if full lockdown restrictions are lifted in June.

On Monday, Boris Johnson announced England’s roadmap to exiting the coronavirus lockdown.

June 21 is the earliest date the final stage of lockdown will be lifted, meaning there will be no limit on social contact.

Weddings could take place at full capacity and nightclubs could reopen under this step, potentially using testing to reduce the risk of infection.

On Tuesday’s This Morning, Holly and Phillip were speaking about what they were going to first when full lockdown restrictions are lifted.

As she introduced the programme, Holly began: ‘It’s official, we could be going on a summer holiday.

‘We can definitely do a summer staycation can’t we, that’s a definite.’

‘After the Prime Minister’s conference yesterday we now know, the roadmap to getting life back to normal which hopefully finishes on the 21st June,’ Holly continued.

‘What are you going to do first?’

Phillip replied: ‘I just want someone to sit in the garden [with]. I have written it all down.

‘It’s all written on a chalk board, what you’re allowed to do.’

‘It’s a Monday,’ Holly continued. ‘The first thing I am going to do is hug you, I might lick your face.’

‘On the 21st June you’re going to lick my face?’ Phillip laughed.

‘Just because I can,’ his pal joked.

At the press conference held at the House of Commons, the Prime Minister explained the easing of lockdown will be ‘led by data, not dates’, and stressed the lifting of measures will take place nationally, and not regionally as before.

He went on to add that there are four steps to unlocking the country, but there will be five weeks between each stage to assess the impact it is having on infections.

From March 8, all schools will re-open and after-school sports and activities restarting outdoors.

From this date, people will also be allowed to have socially distanced one-on-one meetups with others outdoors in a public space – in a social aspect, such as for picnics and coffee, in addition to exercise.

From April 12 at the earliest, restaurants and pubs will be able to serve customers outdoors – with no curfew or ‘substantial meal’ rule – and non-essential shops, beauty salons and hairdressers will hopefully also reopen from that date.

Mr Johnson said ‘most restrictions on meeting outdoors will be lifted’ from May 17, provided the figures on cases, hospitalisations and deaths are under control.

There will be a limit of 30 people on outdoor gatherings. People will be able to mix indoors again, subject to the ‘rule of six’, or two households if the group is larger than six.

Pubs, bars and restaurants will reopen indoors, along with cinemas, theatres and concert halls. Children’s play areas, hotels and hostels will also be able to open from that date.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
