Kevin Hart is set to sign a deal with Netflix to produce and star in four features with the streamer, including a first-look deal.

The actor, 41, who previously had a first-look deal with Universal, is set to enter into the Netflix agreement with his production company, HartBeat Productions, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s sources.

The deal will see Kevin produce and star in four features and he said in a statement: ‘Partnering with Netflix is an amazing opportunity for HartBeat and myself.

‘I am excited to act in and produce cutting edge films with Netflix. I am extremely grateful to Ted Sarandos and Scott Stuber, we share the same creative vision and always put the audience first.

‘This business is about growth and my HartBeat team continues to exceed my expectations with their ability to develop stories and relationships. Our goal is to make the HartBeat name synonymous with first class entertainment and narratives.’

Netflix’s head of film, Scott Stuber, added: ‘Netflix has enjoyed a long relationship with Kevin and we’ve been lucky enough to partner with him many times.

‘He’s a hands-on producer and it’s been great to watch him build an incredible company with HartBeat.

‘There are very few artists who can attract audiences of all ages and succeed in making comedies, dramas and family films.’

As well as his previous deal with Universal, with whom HartBeat made Night School, Kevin, who survived a horrific car crash in 2019, has also previously partnered with Nickelodeon.

He is currently shooting Man From Toronto and is due to begin work om True Story with Wesley Snipes for Netflix, though this is not part of the upcoming deal.

Netflix also recently released his new special, Zero F**ks Given on Netflix, which came under fire from some fans over a joke in which he appeared to call his 15-year-old daughter Heaven a ‘h*e’.

In the clip, the Jumanji actor jokes that she told him: ‘“Dad, I don’t like Rob no more. I like this boy named Tim”. Instantly, in my mind, I said, “My daughter a h*e. This is h*e s**t. H*e activity right in front of my face”.’

He later set the record straight on Instagram, telling his followers: ‘Here’s what it is: I’m not calling my daughter a h*e. I’m saying what she did was h*e-like activity.

‘I called three former h*es that I knew and asked them is this h*e-like activity. We had a conversation about it. A good back and forth. Alright guys, we gotta stop. Stop with the false narrative.’
