Strictly Come Dancing’s Ranvir Singh is reportedly set for a ‘lucrative new contract’ with ITV after making a big impact on the competition last year.

The new deal would make her one of the channel’s highest paid stars, with ITV keen not to lose her when her current contract runs out.

Ranvir’s profile was given a major boost by her appearances on Strictly in 2020, where she was partnered with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice.

The pair reached the semi-final of the show, before becoming the seventh couple to be eliminated. The competition was eventually won by Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse.

Now, the broadcaster is allegedly looking to make her one of the highest paid stars.

A source told The Daily Mail: ‘Ranvir is loved at ITV and by its viewers, she has everything that the channel needs to move forward.

‘There are lots of high- profile projects in the pipeline, too. The intention is that she will be one of the more used presenters. Nobody wants to lose her.’

Ranvir first arrived on TV screens back in 2005 as a presenter on BBC’s North West Tonight. She then moved to Daybreak from 2012 to 2014, before joining Good Morning Britain as a correspondent.

Strictly was a major moment in Ranvir’s career to date, and the presenter previously opened up about her ‘beautiful’ exit after leaving the show.

Speaking to It Takes Two presenter Zoe Ball about leaving the competition, Ranvir said: ‘I’ve had a little random tear every now and again.

‘It’s been amazing. The reaction has been so deep. The connection to people who have really invested in us and watching us. It’s actually been quite a beautiful thing to feel.’
