TikTok star Dixie D’Amelio has left Twitter, explaining that she’s seen too much hate about herself on the platform.

The Be Happy singer let fans know she was deleting her account with a tweet that simply said: ‘Goodbye Twitter… it was fun.’

Later shutting down claims that her exit was related to Donald Trump’s account being permanently suspended, Dixie wrote on Instagram: ‘I don’t f**king support Trump.

‘I’ve said it 100 f**king times…the reason I deleted Twitter was because I spend way too much time reading hate…my timing was just awful lol.’

She added a slightly cryptic message afterwards, writing: ‘Hate me but talk about every move I make… okay?’

Dixie and her younger sister Charli have frequently been subject to trolling online.

Despite that, the 19-year-old has been absolutely smashing it, building up a following of more than 47 million on TikTok.

She’s also been focusing on her career as a singer, seeing huge success with her debut single Be Happy, and collaborating with Liam Payne for their Christmas song Naughty List.

Meanwhile, she and her family are set to kick off their reality show this year.

The series has actually been in the works for quite some time but now fans can start getting excited about the chance to watch the girls and their parents Marc and Heidi as they navigate life as social media superstars.

The family shared their excitement in a statement which read: ‘We are excited to be joining the Hulu family with a unique behind the scenes look into our life.

‘We’ve always been a very close family, but this experience has brought us even closer and we’re really excited to share a glimpse of our lives with the world.’
