Love Island stars Luke Mabbott and Lucie Donan are said to have sparked a lil romance in lockdown.

The reality duo are reportedly now dating, despite not having actually met up in person yet, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sources tell The Sun that it’s ‘early days’ between Luke and Lucie – who both shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show, albeit different series.

An insider revealed that the pair have got close lately, claiming: ‘Luke and Lucie have been speaking for a few weeks, but they haven’t actually met up yet.’

That’s probably due to lockdown restrictions currently in place and the fact that the former islanders are based pretty far apart.

Luke lives up North in Redcar, while keen surfer Lucie is from Cornwall.

She has been busy hinting at a new romance on her social media, with Lucie recently sharing a snap of her posing in her swimsuit on the beach and captioning it: ‘Dear tummy… Sorry for all the butterflies lately. I swear it’s not my fault… it’s his.’

Luke, meanwhile, has been spotted liking Lucie’s bikini shots and he got fans talking with his recent upload, as he posted a selfie and teased: ‘Since you’ve ben around I smile a lot more than I used to.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to reps for both Luke and Lucie for comment.

Reports that the pair are newly dating come after Luke’s ex Demi Jones confirmed the pair had split.

Demi, who is based in Portsmouth, put the break up down to lockdown and distance putting strain on the pair, while claiming Luke wasn’t putting as much effort into their romance as she was.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Demi said: ‘It is a shame because he is a lovely boy and we’re all amicable and friendly, but unfortunately when we came out of the villa I realised my energy wasn’t being reciprocated with Luke on effort levels and such.

‘We drifted [apart] and obviously we’re so far away in lockdown which is a shame, but I wish him all the best.’

Demi and Luke got together on the first ever winter series of Love Island back in January, earlier this year.

Lucie, meanwhile, starred on Love Island’s 2019 series last summer and previously dated her co-star Joe Garrett.
